The signing of the service agreement between UMP Consultancy & Training Sdn. Bhd, a subisidiary of UMPH and Pusat Zakat Pahang was completed by the Chief Executive Officer of UMP Holdings Sdn. Bhd, Mr Syed Hamzah al-Junid Syed Abdul Rahman, and the Senior General Manager of Pusat Kutipan Zakat Pahang, Dato’ Hj Halidan Haji Daud dengan.

       In line with the University’s Communitising Technology agenda, IBM CoE at UMP collaborates with Pusat Zakat Pahang in developing a high-tech innovative system using Corbeau ChatBot System to enhance its data processing management.

Kota Damansara, 14 March – The signing of a memorandum of agreement (MoA) between Universiti Malaysia Pahang Holding (UMPH) through its subsidiary UMP Consultancy & Training Sdn Bhd (UCT) and Tenaga Switchgear Sdn Bhd (TSG), a subsidiary of TNB Berhad, took place at TSG office in Kota Damansara, Selangor. The memorandum was signed by the Managing Director of UMPH, Mr Syed Hamzah Al-Junid Syed Abdul Rahman and the Managing Director of TSG, Datuk Mohd Hisham Ab Halim.

         According to Syed Hamzah, through this collaboration, UMP with its expertise at the IBM CoE would develop “Product Database Solution” and “Resources Planning Solution” systems to meet the needs of TSG. “These will enable information related to their products and services to be accessed online from Android and IoS applications as well as from the website. In addition, the software developed will enable proper integration of company data” he said. This collaboration would also be one of the UMP agenda in communitising technology and its expertise as outlined in the UMP Strategic Plan 2016-2020.

This program was an effort by the IBM CoE in collaboration with the industry, namely, IBM Malaysia together with HeiTech Padu. This collaboration aimed to give exposure to students on System Zos which has been added as an elective subject at the Faculty of Computer Systems and Software Engineering or Fakulti Sistem Komputer dan Kejuruteraan Perisian (FSKKP). The introduction of this new technology was exposed to students to help them see the latest development in the world of technology. Apart from that, the program would also help final year students choose the field of their interest during industrial training and also in their career later. This program was conducted on 14th December 2016 at ZDK 05, UMP Gambang Campus.

On 11th November 2016, IBM CoE proudly welcomed Ms Nini Suhaimi, a representative and Localization Analyst of Apple Inc, California, USA.  This program was organized to introduce the Silicon Valley as the world’s largest centre for development in Industrial Information Technology. Additionally, this program aimed to give exposure to students on a wide variety of opportunities and career paths offered at the Silicon Valley. The program was held at ZDK 05, UMP Gambang Campus.
